Islamabad (Pak PRwire): The Ambassador of Argentina called on the Federal Minister for Health Makhdoom Shaahab uddin and discussed matters of mutual and bilateral interest with special reference to cooperation in the health sector.
The Minister thanked the Government of Argentina for its support in the extension of Federal Government Services Hospital, Islamabad and said that there are vast areas of opportunity for co-operation in the health sector which can be exploited for the benefit of the people of both countries.
The Ambassador informed the Minister that BAGO Group of Industries has set up a Biotech Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility at Raiwind Lahore to manufacture medicines for the treatment of Cancer and Hepatitis-C. He invited the Health Minister to visit the Company alongwith the Secretary and the Director General Health. The Ambassador informed the Minister that Argentina wanted to set up a Bio Technology Industry for the production of vaccines that are used in the Ministry of Health’s Expanded Program on Immunization.
Later in the day, the Ambassador of Maldives H.E.Dr.Aishath Shehenaz Adam paid a courtesy call on the Federal Health Minister to commemorate the donation of Tamiflu 75mg Capsules (OSELTAMIVER) for all 5016 influenza patients as requested by the Government of Maldives through our Mission in Maldives. This was followed by a resolve by both parties to promote and nature the already existing brotherly ties between the two countries at a social, geographical and cultural level.
Also present on the occasion were Federal Secretary Health Kushnood Akhtar Lashari, Director General Health Prof. Dr. Rashid Jooma and Deputy Director General Health Dr. Raja Mustafa Hyder.
