Communist Party of India (Marxist) welcomed the decision of Government of Pakistan for the restoration of deposed Chief Justice

Islamabad: Pakistan High Commissioner to India Shahid Malik met Mr. Prakash Karat, General Secretary, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Dr. Sitaram Yechury, Senior Member of the Polit Burau and Party’s Parliamentary Group Leader, in New Delhi yesterday, says a press release received here today. Both leaders expressed the Party’s desire to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and India.
They also welcomed the decision of the Government of Pakistan for the restoration of the deposed Chief Justice and other Judges. They appreciated the fact that Pakistan had undergone successful transition to a democratic set up. In the CPI (M) manifesto, the need to promote people-to-people contacts and early resumption of the dialogue process between Pakistan and India has also been emphasized.
