Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan and Government of Norway has decided to enhance and strengthen the educational co-operation between the two countries. This agreement was reached in a meeting between Federal Education Minister, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Ambassador of Norway in Islamabad H. E. Mr. Robert Kvile. The two sides decided to establish a Joint working group that will identify the areas where the two countries can co-operate in more effective manner in the educational sector. The Minister for Education Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani apprised the Norway Ambassador that the present Government aims at enhancing the GDP ratio allocated for education up to 4% in the next two years.
Mr. Bijarani also apprised the Ambassador that new Education Policy will lay foundations for more chances of higher education for female students. The Minister said that the Government is committed to girls education and it will not be compromised at any cost, Mr. Bijarani also hoped that Schools in Swat would fully be functioning once the peace returns to the valley. The Ambassador of Norway appreciated the idea of Joint working group on education presented by the Education Minister He further said that the Government of Norway will further assist the Government of Pakistan in the public sector education.
