Karachi: The two-day workshop turned out to be a grand success. On the first day, Mr. Humayun Aziz Kurd, Federal Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development inaugurated the workshop along with Mr. Muhammad Ali Afridi, Secretary Livestock & Dairy Development.

This exclusive workshop was focused on the Opportunities in the Global Halal Market, Thailand Halal Certification and Standards, Indonesian Halal Certification and Standards, Philippines Halal Certification and Standards, Best Halal Practices in the Food Industry, Halal Certification: Singapore Experience and the European market for Asian Halal Products.
It was stated in the Workshop that the vast potential in the market could be tapped by ensuring Halal Value Addition in Dairy Products and would improve the long term standing of the companies involved.
The two-day workshop ended up with the collection of recommendations from the spokespersons and finally the distribution of plaques, concluding remarks and group photograph.
PAK-ASEAN Int’l Workshop on Halal Food Technologies & Certification systems was organized by Ministry of Livestock and Dairy Development Government of Pakistan on 11-12 March 2009 at Karachi in collaboration with ASEAN Secretariat & Ecommerce Gateway.
